Switchboard Victoria is a peer organisation providing support to LGBTIQA+ and TGD people since 1991. Out & About is a free program of Switchboard Victoria that connects older LGBTIQA+ people at risk of social isolation to friendship and community by matching seniors with regular peer community visitors based on shared hobbies and interests. This program operates across Victoria and is used by many TGD seniors from ages 51 to 81. 

The aim of “Out & About Connect - A TGD Special Event” is to bring together Victorian TGD Seniors and Youth to facilitate intergenerational friendships and community connections in a safe and welcoming environment accessible to the needs of older people and people with disability. 

The service continues with the option of in person visits or virtual / phone / mail contact. Volunteer visitors are trained in COVID-19 infection control. New referrals to use our service are still welcomed at this time.
