Supporting growth and sustainability of trans and gender diverse peer support across Victoria. Supported by the Victorian Government.
The week of the 13th to the 19th of November is Transgender Awareness Week, a week of action and education that explores the lives and experiences of trans and gender diverse peoples everywhere. It is a week we claim for ourselves to celebrate ourselves, to express ourselves in our own ways on our own terms, to tell our stories in our own words and symbols. To honour our history and create our future. The world would deny our existence: we declare our existence.
The week leads up to our Day of Remembrance (TDOR) on the 20th of November.
Various events are taking place across the continent to raise awareness of the ongoing violence, hatred, surveillance and control of trans and gender diverse peoples everywhere, and to celebrate our resistance and collective self-expression in defiance of discrimination.
