Victorian Labor Celebrates LGBTIQ+ Community In Budget

On Monday 17th May, International Day against Homophobia, Interphobia and Transphobia, we were excited to attend a press release with The Hon. Martin Foley, Minister For Health, Ambulance Services and Equality.

The following is our official announcement, made in collaboration with Transcend. While the details of the program are still very much in development, we are excited at the prospect of working with partner organisations Orygen, Monash Gender Clinic, Transcend and Rainbow Door:

We welcome the Victorian Government's announcement and their continued support for the trans and gender diverse community.
We are particularly pleased that community organisations Transgender Victoria and Transcend Australia are to be involved in the development of new resources, vital peer support and navigation and clinical support for our vulnerable young trans and gender diverse community.
There are growing waiting lists for all support services for trans and gender diverse people across Victoria and and we applaud the budget allocation for additional resources that provide wrap-around care for young people, who have the same right to healthcare as any other young person.
